ZEN ROBBI – Timmy Too Tall – Bio. PDF Print E-mail

Timmy “Too Tall” Baker is one of the baddest bassist around. Hailing from the tough streets of Downey California, this young man has packed years of experience into his short life thus far.

Picking up a bass while hanging out around the church as a youth, and with encouragement of family, The Parliament Funkadelic and early 90’s West Coast rap is where and how Timmy Too Tall came to slappin the bass. Timmy has been laying down phat bass lines with Mic Dangerously since the pre Zen Robbi days, in their first band Tallboys and then as Fatwalk until linking up with drummer Scott Wittenberg to get Zen Robbi off the ground. With very little formal training, this pure entertainer has been laying down the smooth and always funky vibes for years now.

Since day one until now, Timmy Too Tall has hundreds of live performances under his belt as well as three studio-recorded albums with Zen Robbi. When this road warrior isn’t in the studio or on the stage, you can find him out at nearly every great show (lady on arm) gaining inspiration from other performers, or at the craps tables in Vegas rollin the dice. Either way this guy knows how to enjoy himself to the max, never leaving anyone looking to have a good time in the dust and knows how to get the party started.

As far as Zen Robbi’s new album, “Heavy Lies the Crown” and where Zen Robbi goes from here, all Timmy has to say is,

“Pure Rockin....Our best yet. I never get bored with it. It's fun, chill, party music.  I see us doing what we do, but on a larger scale.  I want to build an empire and invite everyone who has been there for us to come party at the zR shows.  We hope to have our name remembered for a long time to come, straight up! Let’s just Party.”

As you can see, Timmy Too Tall is all about taking the music and performance to the next level, continuing to push the progressive sound that Zen Robbi is all about and bringing it to the masses. Nevertheless, this bassist has the poise and natural ability to steal the show at a moment’s notice and get the audience moving with his funky bass lines. Whenever you see this cool cat out and about, give him a howl and you just might get one back; Eeerrrrrruuuuuufffffff!
